Should I work with a Health Coach

We are in the midst of facing a health revolution and health coaches are on the forefront during this time when diabetes and obesity are skyrocketing among adults and children. Autoimmune diseases have dramatically increased worldwide. According to the CDC, diabetes is now the fastest growing chronic disease and one of the most expensive diseases to manage. Followed closely by heart disease, cancer and Alzheimer’s.

The good news is we are all capable of fighting this growing problem with our own lifestyle choices.

Many of us are simply overwhelmed by all the choices and the immense amount of conflicting information on nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle. We know there is a strong connection between what and when we eat and how it affects our health. The biggest challenge we face is in the implementation.

Since each of us is unique, there is no “one size fits all” plan for eating. A Health Coach can work with you to tailor a plan designed for you and your unique story.

A Health coach is basically a change agent who can help you sort out truth from fiction, help you with customized information that is relevant to you and your unique challenges and goals. Using a coach helps you create your own solutions to challenges, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and speak freely in a supportive environment.

Coaches also give you the opportunity to be supported without judgment, holds you accountable to your goals and empowers you to discover your own wisdom and strengths.

We know the reason that diets don’t work, is because there is no failsafe built in. You are either on or off a diet. This is not a structure for a lifelong health journey. We need to learn to live in the gray area where life actually happens.

Whether your goal is to lose weight, increase your energy or develop better nutrition geared towards a happier and healthier life, a health coach will help you sort out and discover why you are struggling. Offer the support you need as you navigate the world of contradictory nutrition advise to discover what will work for you.
